Free Lactation Support Groups in Baltimore

Eight people bring their hands together in support of each other.

There are many benefits to receiving lactation support in a group setting. You get to meet other parents and learn from them in a more casual, social setting. There are many options in the Baltimore area if you this sounds like the right fit for you. These groups can help anyone who is breastfeeding, chestfeeding, or pumping.

  • La Leche League: La Leche League offers in-person or virtual options for support. They are no-cost to participants. To contact them about available programs, call 443-595-6455 or check out their Facebook page.

  • The Womb Room: Located in Hampden, The Womb Room has a free Feeding Circle offered in-person. The group meets twice a month, and is facilitated by a IBCLC. They meet every Tuesday! For more information and to register, visit their website.

  • The Lactation Club: University of Maryland offers a free support group every Tuesday from 1pm-2pm at the Midtown location. TLC is run by an IBCLC and free parking is available. For more information, e-mail lactationsupport@umm.edu.

  • B’More Healthy Babies: Run by a Certified Lactation Counselor, B’More Healthy Babies meets at The Judy Center in Patterson Park every Thursday from 830am-1000am. For more information, visit their website or call 410-558-4896.

  • Johns Hopkins Hospital: JHH has an in-person support group every week led by IBCLCs, every Thursday morning from 1000am-1130am. For more information visit their website or call 410-502-3221.

  • Little Latch Club: At St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Towson, The Little Latch Club meets Thursdays from 12pm-2pm. Register and find out more, here! This group is also run by IBCLCs.

  • Lava Baby Lactation: Run by Jonelle Lund, IBCLC, this support group meets weekly in her office in York, PA, just a quick drive up 83 from Baltimore. Join her on Tuesdays from 1:00pm-2:30 pm!
